United Insurance President/CEO Chris Condon, and his wife Denise, approached ACOG’s Executive Director, Jennifer Roe, in the fall of 2019 with the desire to provide financial assistance to students wanting to pursue a post-secondary education, but who had limited resources available.

“We chose A Company of Girls to partner with on this venture because, after having the pleasure to see the organization from a few different angles, it really caught our hearts,” said Chris and Denise.   On a Zoom meetup to announce the scholarships Chris stated, “We loved reading the applications, and were thrilled to have so many worthy recipients. The energy and enthusiasm just jumped off the pages.  Congratulations to all of you.  Pursue your dreams, follow your heart, and don’t give up.“

In addition to the original scholarship investment, United Insurance has announced that, in recognition and response to the Black Lives Matter movement, they will be doubling the scholarship amounts for this year, saying, “It seems right to make an additional investment in the next generation at this time in our history.”

ACOG’s Director stated, “We could not be more proud of these girls who have shown themselves to be superior young women with a desire to succeed through hard work, dedication, and leadership, and we are so honored to be able to assist in providing them with this investment in their future, thanks to the tremendous generosity of Chris, Denise and the entire United Insurance team.  I have always dreamed of having a scholarship component of our programming, and they have made that dream a reality.  We are truly grateful for their amazing support!”
